Caching and replication in decentralized Linked Data environments

In a decentralized Web setting, the pieces of data needed by applications can be spread across tens or hundreds or servers. In this thesis, you will examine the following research question: how can dynamically caches in decentralized Linked Data networks improve the performance of Web applications?

In order to answer this question, you will need design, build, and test a dynamic caching system and the associated algorithms.

This involves Web-stack technology (HTTP), as well as the Semantic Web (RDF and SPARQL). Obviously, if all of these servers have to be contacted every time the application needs to build up a view, things would be very slow.

Hence, there is a need for dynamic caching on the data level, much like we currently cache on the HTTP level.
