Beatriz Esteves joins KNoWS

Hi everyone,

My name is Beatriz Esteves and I have started recently as the lead of Prof. Ruben Verborgh's Policies & Interfaces team at KNoWS.

I have a Master's in Biomedical Engineering from the NOVA School of Science and Technology andwas working as a researcher at the Ontology Engineering Group, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid,while pursuing a PhD in Artificial Intelligence, where my research was focused on having legally-aligned policies integrated into the Solid ecosystem.

I’m looking forward to continuing to do research on policies and interfaces, with a particular focus on the legal requirements brought on by the upcoming European data-related regulatory frameworks and the emergence of (personal) data spaces. In my free time, I enjoy watching sports, in particular football, travelling and watching (my) cats.
