Emma Nuyts joins KNoWS

Hello everyone!

My name is Emma Nuyts, I started as a PhD student in both the KNoWS and PreDiCT team in October. I obtained a Masters in Architectural Engineering at Ghent University in 2022, after which I started working at a multi-disciplinary design office as a BIM-designer and BIM-responsible. I combined this job with a position as a teaching assistant for one day a week at the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning. During the last two years, I also conducted some research, mainly on the automated code compliance checking of building models, often using Linked Data techniques.

For my PhD, I will be working on the BOCEMON project, which is an imec.ICON project that aims at converting office buildings into more sustainable and comfortable spaces through dynamic HVAC control. I will be collaborating closely with Prof. Femke Ongenae and Prof. Sofie Van Hoecke.

In my free time, I love to crochet clothes, meet up with friends, attend a spinning class or visit my family in Limburg.
