Ieben Smessaert joins KNoWS

Hello everyone!

My name is Ieben Smessaert and I recently started in August as a PhD Student at KNoWS. I have studied Computer Science at Ghent University where I first came in contact with everything that KNoWS stands for during my bachelor in the Web Development course of prof. Ruben Verborgh, after which I did a small student job working on the Community Solid Server. I finished my Master's degree by doing my master thesis with KNoWS last year, working on A Three-Part View on Solid Web Forms. Since I still couldn't get enough of it, and since all contacts with the team were very positive and there is a nice atmosphere here, I decided to start a PhD here. In the coming years I will be working on policies and interfaces in Linked Data and Solid.

In my free time I play basketball and like to go for a run or meet up with friends. You might also occasionally find me in the basement of Zeus WPI, the student association for Computer Science at Ghent University, of which I was vice president last year.
